In the mist covered Storm Isles, Danika dwelt in Avalar, and it was there that she created her first servants, being of light and magic, with wings and beautiful forms. These small beings, who she would call faeries, would follow her and spread light, often int the blue and silver of the twin moons she had created. She made them curious and blessed them with youthful spirits, many were prone to mischief as they developed.
They sought to return her affection and trust in them by tending to her many creations, the beasts of the sea and of the forest, the trees and plants she had grown from Ar’rin’s soil, and even the mist itself. The creatures of the land and sea were rarely as delighted with the faerie folk as Danika was herself, but the west flourished under their care.
In time, Danika’s work became larger than she could handle alone, and she sought another answer. Though the faeries were dedicated to her and wanted to aid in any way they could, they were not as helpful, or responsible, as she hoped. So she decided to gather the beasts and the faerie, the trees and the birds together. She sent a great storm to herd them to the tallest mountain peak in the western range, a place she named Kaless.
Thunder and lightning raged in the mountains already, and it was from there that she drew the forces to gather them. For the time of this meeting, the mountain was the eye of the storm, calm and carefully controlled to provide a nurturing place for this First Moot.
It was there, on that day, that Danika drew the best from all her creations and forged them into a new being, made up all the greatest treasures in her realm. At the end of the moot, a thousand Elves descended from the mountain peak of Kaless and rode the storms across Ar’rin.
Many settled in the Isles to the West, close to Danika, and they are still called the Storm Elves today. But others wandered north, east, and south to establish homes across the plains, forests, and hills of the continent. Some even journeyed as far as the Ithiel Plateau and became its first inhabitants. Others mingled with the beings of the world made by other godlings and built the first villages.
But they often returned to Avalar, to the realm of Danika to tell her of their progress, ask fro guidance, and pay homage to the Goddess who brought them into the world. They did this at the cycle of the seasons, bringing gifts and tidings to her, for she no longer wandered beyond the Storm Isles. She had given so much of herself in the act of creation, that she could only lead them. Guide them, and teach them the ways of magick. Those closest to her learned the most about the powers of godlings, and the Words of Magick that powered the universe.
