Barismoor Excursion I
A recounting of the sanctioned excursions to recover lost Barismoor from the blight of daemons in the southron wastes.
Calendar: Seedling Monath, 21st Dia
At the direction of Garrison Fell-Beard, Head of Acquisitions for Oldskull Excursions Ltd, Spreggle-Shar Wizard of the Obsidian Order, and 3rd Apprentice to Majorus of Arised, has opened a portal from Olmshire to Barismoor.
Despite its co-location magicks, the portal was a lunar ‘exploratory derisement’ and quite harmless. The transport doorway was approved for less than a quarter of the lunar rise for Zirána. Only a portion was utilized.
Two recruits, Jasper Gortesh of the Aelheim and Eliza of the Wylding Beastfolk, went through and successfully used the crafted anchoring vessel to secure a beacon within The Pattern at the site of the Bastion of Splendid Light tower in Barismoor. The excursion was deemed a success.
However, the debriefing included the following elements of concern:
Jasper: Known foes are animated skeletons and fluttering hordes of bats. There was a distant glimpse of a pair of humanoid shapes in the area of the ruins, but did not engage and they did not come closer. Possible Scavengers.
Eliza: There is some kind of animation magic in this place. The anchor point is set in the Bastion of Splendid Light. Spreggle does indeed make splendid portals. Though, you may vomit upon landing.
Do not trust that this space is safe. There was a voice, asking what we were about. It did not seem pleased.
Thank you to contributors: Dungeon Master (Jasper) and Dungeon Mistress (Eliza)
Garrison,
I feel we must be careful after team that provided us with the anchor. If there is a “presence” or entity in the Bastion it could be the reason those wards have faded.
We both know that my patron in the Shar Order was very clear that each tower site may have used different warding methods to seal them. But it is also possible that the energies of the wards combined with the vast treasures stored within have attracted some one, some thing, else.
On another note, sending through the barbarian witch is almost certainly going to end poorly. Do not be hasty in this request, there are only so many uses of the anchor that we can employ, and each excursion will deplete the anchor in concordance with the amount of time a door remains open.

Etta: Entered in the main room of Bastion. There is a large sinkhole in the floor, somewhere between 3 & 6-span deep, it ends in darkness and more sand. Encountered a cobra with stone-searing venom which entered the crack in the floor.
A strong presence below the tower pulled at me to come closer. The Ominous voice is a sand elemental who wants its "betrothed" found, indicating this was below the tower.
The fallen stairway could be scaled with equipment, light could be seen shining down through the stairway.
Large dragon seen in the center of Barismoor, burrowed beneath the deepest sand dunes. Beware of too much noise.
